Welcome to my constituency website

I am proud to represent more than 80,000 residents of Ashford, Tenterden and the surrounding villages. I have been Ashford’s MP since 1997. I live in Charing and am involved with organisations and campaigns in all parts of the constituency.

We need to ensure that future housing growth is accompanied by the new high-quality jobs Ashford needs, as well as a vibrant town centre, which will complement the beauty of the surrounding Kent countryside.

I am also Minister for Immigration in the Coalition Government, dealing with one of the most difficult and sensitive issues in modern politics.

Please note that this website is about Ashford and Damian’s work for his constituents. If you are not a constituent but have a query about immigration, the person best placed to help you will be your own MP, who you can find here . Alternatively you can contact the Home Office at ministerforimmigration@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk  or visit the Home Office website at http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/

Written Answers - Home Department: Immigration Controls: Olympic Games 2012 (22 Feb 2012)
Damian Green: There are 63 ePassport gates located at nine airports (across 15 terminals) in the UK. These will continue to be available for the foreseeable future and I expect all those currently in place to be operational prior to the start of the Olympics. There are no plans to extend ePassport gates to all UK ports prior to the Olympics.
